Mr. Harke has been photographing a wide variety of subjects for more than 30 years. Upon his return to the Nashville area three years ago, he began to concentrate his efforts on sights and signs iconic to Nashville, giving them "A Closer Look".
The city is filled with musicians and instruments, all with stories to tell. The instruments Mr. Harke photographed for this collection have been played for hundreds of hours, each taking on a unique look and sound.
Mr. Harke focuses on single elements of these instruments, finding close-ups of the most interesting sections and creating abstract photographs.
